Yes. At least once. As far as I know it worked as expected. (I didn't
precisely examine my account balance to see that exactly the expected
amount was deducted, but it dropped by about a few dollars and there
were no errors or complaints from the My Account app when switch to/from
plans.)
What's annoying abut this is that up until about a year ago T-Mobile
offered a data "day pass" where you paid a few dollars for 24 hours of
data access, and didn't need to mess with your phone plan at all. When
they discontinued it, the outrage in the T-Mobile forums suggested it
was a popular feature. Then someone figured out the dynamic plan change
trick, which does essentially the same thing for about the same price
with slightly less convenience. Not sure what T-Mobile is trying to
accomplish. Who knows how long this trick will last...wouldn't surprise
me if they eventually wise up and limit you to one plan change per month.
