Linux On Servers

Hello Everyone,

Im sure we all agree that the FOSS community is all
about choice.  Choosing a Linux Distro is really up to
the factors that are important to YOU in that
decision.

I have used Debian, Redhat, Fedora, Centos, Ubuntu,
Suse, etc. in production environments.  

For some it might be commercial support, TCO, ease of
management, and for others it might be patch time
frame.  Generally you CAN support and have a stable
mission critical environment in any of these if
engineered properly.   One can customize any one of
these Distros to any need and thats the beauty of it. 
Patch management, Common Daemons, Security Toolkits
etc. are available generally available for all of
these Distros and are mostly Free and Open Source
anyhow.  One can even get support for the Free side
(Debian/Fedora/etc) via many companies (so don't
believe the marketing hype of some large vendors). 
You have flexibility of choice and a great community
with Linux.
