max UID on redhat7.0

Hi,

Does anyone know how I can change the max UID that redhat 7 allows? My uid
at work is >125000 and when I bind to the NIS server, it doesn't let me
login (with a setuid() failed message in the log). A friend with a lower
uid could log in.
