GPS-free cell phone?

I currently do not own a cell phone, but, after attending Lar Kaufman's talk
last night, I'm now worried that the only available cell phones will have
GPS installed.  If I were to buy a cell phone today, would it have GPS
installed in it?  And, if so, how could I tell if it's the "privacy
invasive" GPS kind or not?
