Linux, as a technical thing, is on very solid ground. Most of the cloud 
runs on Linux. A whole lot of embedded stuff is running on Linux.

Certainly Linux for human users, on physical computers, owned by their 
users, is another matter. And I agree that Linux is pretty easy to use 
these days.

But I suspect Linux's greatest foe as a user OS isn't MS Windows nor Mac 
OS, but the fact that people aren't buying personal computers so much 
anymore. Haven't the little pocket computers we call "cell phones" 
shoved PCs aside for many?

P.S. I'm about to shut down and attempt to replace the fingerprint 
reader on my Framework 13. (I dropped the computer, it landed on that 
corner.) The fingerprint is also the only "power" switch, and I don't 
know how bad the damage is in there, so who knows how long it will take 
me to ever power it up again. Wish me luck!
