LILO. Those were the days. None of this Grub3 complexificationism. How
solidly I wish LILO would work with UEFI so that I could dump this
Grub3 albatross.

Yes, there were geometric restrictions on LILO, which once upon a time
was a problem. But today, for less than $100.00, you can get a 1TB NVMe
drive more than capable of running your basic OS, and then you can get
your "real" hard drive and bind mount parts of it to mountpoints. It's
easy as hell to put the right partitions close to the start on your 1/2
to 1TB root NVMe.

I'd love for LILO to work with UEFI, or better yet, to forget UEFI ever
existed and have mobo manufacturers go back to plain old MBR.
