So... most of that exclude bit can be subsumed by "-x" (don't cross
filesystem boundaries).
You need to replicate hard links correctly: -H
Depending on your data you may also need to treat sparse files
efficiently: -S
Feedback is good so you can see what is going on.
Be verbose: -v
Show progress: -P
sudo rsync -avxHPS / /media/eric/USB1TB/
