Patently false. Not all laws are based on morality. For example, what
side of the road you drive on has nothing to do with morals. Neither do
speed limits or the laws requiring buses to stop at railroad crossings.
Nor do the laws mandating health insurance and income taxes. Nor laws
requiring dogs to be registered with the city or town. Fact is, most
laws in the US have nothing to do with morality.

Those laws which are based on morality are based on some individuals'
morality rather than morality as a general thing. Examples of these
include the Volstead Act and blue laws. Most of which have been repealed
or amended in the US, or are in the process of being repealed or
amended, because legislating morality against the wishes of the
citizenry is the kind of thing that despots and zealots do.

Which are you, a despot or a zealot?
