It's not privacy. Everything you would put in a contacts list is
publicly available information. Names? Public. Addresses? Public. Dates
of birth? Public. Telephone numbers? Public. Yes, even unlisted numbers
are public, they're just a little harder to find than checking the
telephone directory.
Anonymity is a different thing. The more connections that you have, the
less anonymous you are. Even if you are completely "autistic", someone
you are close to isn't. This one degree of separation means that
anything you might not want to put into Google's or Facebook's or
LinkedIn's storage is already there via some channel you can't control.
