[Discuss] Virtual hosting provider (me too)

Professionally, I'm using Linode - where I want to have my own machine
(virtual - yes, but "shared" no).  Their plans are the best and most
affordable I've found for a true VPS.

SliceHost used to be good, but now they are owned by Rackspace.  I don't
like Rackspace at all.

I find Amazon to be too complex - although I never really took it too far.
 And they're not inexpensive either.

For my own personal sites that I've got to get back online, I want
something a bit easier to manage than Linode, and I don't want to try
self-hosting off my Comcast cable modem again.  So, I'm considering getting
a shared server again.   In this category I used to use PairNetworks a long
time ago but I think they're a bit overpriced these days.  I'm thinking
about setting up an account with http://www.webfaction.com/  I like the
fact that they have their status blog online and their docs online too.
 Their competition includes HostGator and MediaTemple (each of them also
does VPS too).

I really like to keep things local, and in that vein, I'm considering
Beantownhost - run by Matt Shields.  http://beantownhost.com/web-hosting/
Excellent price, and an excellent guy.
