I'm coming in late to this discussion, I guess. Correct me if I'm wrong,
you are looking for a USB web cam? One that works with Linux? If this is
the case, I've done a bit of looking for the Linux PC Robot.
I found that 1-2 year old Logitech cameras are the best bet. The latest
often don't have drivers.
Depending on your needs, I found the QuickCam 3500 E to be perfectly
functional -- and cheap, $8.99 at Microcenter for a refurb
