Can you elaborate a little on what's not working?
The usual suspects:
 - can you run the command from a terminal?
 - does your command require a tty?
 - is the cron daemon running? ( try "/etc/init.d/crond status" or equivalent)
 - is your system using SELinux, AppArmor, etc that might be interfering?

Anything else is likely to be system-specific.  What distro / version of cron?
