convert m3u to mp3

My favorite radio station archive its shows using an .m3u format.  If
I try to save it, it only saves the url that links to the stream.

Does anyone know how I can convert this link into an .mp3 format so
that I can load it to my cell phone and listen on the train?  Is there
some way to use wget to get the full stream or is there a player that
can record to mp3?
