It looks like an interesting idea. As they point out in their FAQ,
it doesn't really guarantee your data; it just makes it possible
to recover your data if you catch it shortly after it starts to fail.
Without something like dvdisaster, you basically have to guess
at when a disc is likely to fail, and copy its data before that occurs.
With dvdisaster and a careful routine of verifying your discs
at routine intervals, you can wait until a disc begins to fail, and
create a new copy at that point.
The routine media verification is essential, otherwise you're
likely to miss the window of opportunity where there's still
enough redundancy to recover the data from the failing disc.
