While these sites are a bit redundant with sites like Freshmeat.net, 
etc, they provide the added benefit that they cross reference open 
source with commercial software, so for example, if you're looking for 
open source alternatives to Adobe PhotoShop, you look up PhotoShop and 
see the alternate projects listed.
