Wierd VMWare behavior

When I am at home connected either to wireless or wired static IP or
dhcp, I can log into my laptop (Ubuntu 7.04) as myself, run VMWare and
open (eg. power on) the Windows virtual machine. But, when I am at work
wired dhcp I get a permission violation. When I log in as my wife, the
VM just hangs.=20

The only difference is the network.=20
