Your choices are basically either Tyan or Supermicro in the hobbyist/DIY
categories. I have 3 Tyan dual-CPU machines, all Opteron based, and
they're fine once set up. The initial set up required a time investment
to get the kernel and drivers tweaked, but once each machine was running,
it has been mostly trouble-free.
If you didn't want to build it yourself, Sun has some interesting looking
dual CPU machines.
