What kind of hardware are you using?
I've had some issue with FC6 and OpenSuSe 10.2 on a Dell E521 (on AMD 64bit 3800 X2)
various USB issue and some hangs when using raw1394 device driver.
There appear to be some known USB issues with this hardware , or hints to that effect.
