NIS issue

The usual suspects:
 - portmapper on client died sometime after ypbind started
 - firewall rule on client
 - client is not in the correct netgroup (so server refuses to answer query)

If none of these seem to be the issue, check /var/log/messages on both the
client and the server to see if there's anything useful.
