Bash trick of the day

Hey David, thanks for the script!  One question, when I set,

cat /dev/video0 > /tmp/test_capture.mpg=$1
2=$2

it just keeps recording and doesn't stop in 120 seconds as expected.  I 
use ctrl-c to stop capture.  Am I doing something incorrectly?  Thanks.
