reinstalling debian /bin

I saw a script for doing this but it didn't work and I am not too
familiar with bash to get it to work:

 dpkg --get-selections | cut -d` ' -f1 | xargs apt-get install --reinstall --yes

I guess that I can install by hand or maybe by deselect.
