http://www.testdrive.hp.com/current.shtml wow!
"We now have Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 4.0 running in TestDrive on an
Integrity rx8620 with sixteen 1.5GHz Itanium processors." that's porn
to a geek right there.
i was in bestbuy last week and found on the busted up item sale rack an
hp media center pc, m7334n tower for $600. Athon x2, 2 GB RAM, all the
cards except a wireless. Installed FC5 and other than an overly fast
clock that i'll fix this evening i'm quite pleased. don't have much to
add the discussion other than i've had no more difficulty using 64-bit
than 32-bit. every fresh install seems to develop into it's own unique
learning experience. :) fortunately there's a ton of other people
doing the same thing with plenty of info available on the net. soon all
us home linux users will be 64-bit anyway, i think. might as well begin
playing with it.
