Recompiling kernel src rpm with config changes?

I'm trying to rebuild a kernel on CentOS 4.3, and I get a bunch
of errors when I try to use the kernel-devel rpm. Rebuilding
the source rpm with
rpmbuild --rebuild kernel-2.6.9-34.0.1.EL.src.rpm
works fine, but that builds it with the default .config.
Is there a way to tell rpmbuild to use a different config file
when rebuilding the kernel? Is there any option other than
building it all manually? The source rpm includes a lot of
patches, and I basically want to keep everything the same except
for the specific options I'm changing.
