I ran OpenWRT on a WRT-54GS for several months, and it performed
admirably. I switched to Sveasoft in a fit of needing to get something
working quickly before travelling, and simply not having time to go back.

Both worked very well. The GUI-based front-ends are admittedly
convenient, but OpenWRT felt just like my previous tower PC running as a
firewall.

I've got OpenDebianSlug running on a Linksys NSLU2 NAS device. Only 1
Ethernet port native, but some folks are running a second USB Ethernet
interface. THAT lil' thing is indeed impressive, since it's a full-blown
Debian, with all the apt-get goodness that implys.
