Thread and Reply to List Breakage (Windows users?)

Hi all.
I recently got the chunk of the e-mails from this list where people were
replying to an individual and carbon copying the list as part of an
ongoing discussion thread in the list.


This has two unintended side effects:

The first is that it cause the e-mail to be delivered without the
List-ID or the X-List field causing the email to be sorted into the wrong
folder.  Since it is not being mailed to the user from the mailing list,
there is no way to guarantee that it gets into the right folder, i.e.
the folder for that mailing list.  This means it is no longer part of
the thread for that discussion within the mailing list.  

The List-ID field does not appear in emails which were CC'd to the list
and we need that field for sorting list emails.

Remember, you can't sort to list folders based on the carbon copy
address because that causes other problems.

The second thing that it breaks is the reply to list function.  Since
the e-mail is coming from an individual, even if it does manage to show
up in the right folder, any attempt to use a reply to list function will
break.

Please don't reply to individuals when participating in list threads,
reply to the list (The way God intended! :-)  ) Unless you have a
specific need or reason to reply to that individual.
