We have a really cool job opening here at Red Hat in the Westford, MA
office. Its a great mix of community interaction and driving testing.
Here's the job description:
*Position Summary*
This position involves working closely with the external Fedora
community as well as the internal Red Hat developers. From a community
perspective, the position entails building up infrastructure and
participation to triage bugs, and enable community testers to be an
effective partner in the overall development process, through testing
efforts. From an internal perspective, the position involves leveraging
testing infrastructure and hardware to develop & perform tests to ensure
the Fedora project meets release readiness criteria. Triage
responsibilities include review of outstanding bugs to identify release
blocking issues and to make overall release readiness assessments.
This role entails a diversity of skills, ranging from building effective
community involvement, to hands on testing & triage, to release
readiness judgement. It is a combination of overall project leadership
with hands on test infrastructure and unit test development.
*Requirements*
Requires a BSCS and 5 years of experience.
Strong professional communications skills are required as you will be
frequently interacting external community members and internal
developers to build up their involvement. Strong ability to develop
testing infrastructure and unit tests is also a requirement. Your
efforts will be highly visible to the Fedora open source development
community at large.
Requirements include prior participation in open source projects. Proven
history of building up community participation is a strong plus.
Development skills are also required to be able to help diagnose
problems, build up testing infrastructure and unit tests.
