    * What is threads - very generic to include Sun's lwp.
    * Why use threads more in the context of single-threaded app vs.
	multi-threaded app and threads vs. fork().
    * Kernel threads vs. user threads. This is important in Linux 2.6
	kernels with NPTL.
    * Basic thread concepts and functions: thread creation, thread
	join, mutex, conditions, attributes.
    * Some simple examples.
