Unfortunately, when  dealing with multiple vendors, it is somehow difficult 
to get something done. 
So far, this is the third 10day+ outage on Verizon systems that I know of. 
Of the other two, one was DSL, the other was phone service only. 

In my personal case, I have never had a multiple day outage from 
Comcast/Attbi/MediaOne/Highway1. On the other hand, I think Comcast gets 
its customer service people from the Microsoft/Dell discard list.
