Need some email/colo service -- recommedations?

My own opinion is that the right thing to do, assuming you expect your
company to grow beyond the six of you within the next 2 years or so,
is to get an ISP, and do the rest yourself.  Most importantly, hire a
qualified system administrator immediately, so they can set up all
aspects of your network properly, before your little band of merry men
makes a mess of it.

I have some experience cleaning up such disasters, and I can say
fairly confidently that the biggest mistake most small companies make,
IT-wise, is not getting it done right the first time.  This invariably
leads to substantial but unnecessary pain down the road...

In the beginning, your sysadmin should have lots of spare time, AFTER
(but not until) everything is all set up correctly.  So they should
expect to have other duties, such as development work.  But your team
also should expect that as you grow, your sysadmin will quickly have
enough to do that other tasks will no longer be possible in any sort
of practical way.
