Stripping MIME attachment in Sent folder?

I have an IMAP account and want to strip various attachments from Sent
messages.   I've tried using PINE, my favorite email client, but it is a
bit funky.   I called up Outlook Express, but OE stripped the attachments
for me :-(   I called up Netscape 7.1, but it was no help, either.

What other recommendations do people have for stripping attachments, thus
freeing up precious quota space.
