Well, it's one of those things that you basically just have to know...
Welcome to the world of Unix system administration. ;-) Of course,
that /is/ documented, /somewhere/, but figuring out where is the
tricky bit. One place is probably the CD burning Howto available from
the Linux Documentation project. There are probably others...
