Online Linux help

Can anyone suggest a good, free site with lots of Linux tutorials and topical info? I need to do things like update PHP and Mysql, manually install packages, work with tar and gzip, customize menus, etc. Everything I've found so far is either too beginner or too technical. I need something written for a Windows convert.
