Comcast DNS/POP performance question

Thanks.  It appears that Comcast uses a pool of four POP servers.  I 
have noticed that my connection to their POP server is very slow 
recently and access in general is slow.  I suppose it's due to the 
switchover.  However, the POP server pool seems small and I don't like 
that they don't divide the traffic by region.  i.e. performance 
suffers.  Mediaone had a regional scheme but it must have been hard on 
tech support and install techs.
