SOT: w2k alters mbr

Then w2k trashes it again.

Only John seemed to have gotten my point.  W2k is installed, but
everytime it boots it trashes the, I assume, mbr.  Setting
its partition active so that grub is bypassed and w2k steals
the next boot.

I have an old fashioned mbr, like mdos3.1 fdisk /mbr.
I am assuming that the active partition flags are in the mbr.
