I agree with JABR that mailman is superior.
There are a few problems that I have encountered when converting from
majordomo to mailman:
1. The lists are maintained in bare address format. At least on majordomo I
could maintain the list as:Jerry Feldman <blu.org> format, which makes it a
bit easier to manage a restricted list.
2. A listmember can not received both regular mailings and digest. It is
one or the other but not both. (This is because there is one list).
3. No files. One of the lists I maintained had files which members could
obtain using the get aommand.
But, list maintenance is far superior.
