Linksys Cable/DSL router & external IP filtering?

Hello to all:

I have a Linksys BESFR81 8-port cable/dsl gateway/router.  A friend has a
BESFR41 4-port unit.

I want to set both up to filter external/public IP addresses.   Each unit
has the latest firmware.

Any hints?  Any ideas when Linksys might update the firmware to permit
this?
