Yes, but in answering your e-mail, I tried something else and am now
even happier than I was. Thanks.
It turns out I can use both "-P" and "-p" when firing up ssh. The
"-P" gets me past my work firewall, and a "-p" to an open port gets me
past whatever filter galaxydsl.net (aka gis.net) has put upstream of
me and can't find.
One of these days I will pester them to find the extra firewalland
open it, but in the meantime, I am happy to have ssh working, and I
can even kill the high numbered sshd I had launched.
