Linux Friendly ISP

I think that Galaxy Internet is also reasonable. (http://www.gis.net). They
are owned and operated locally. I used to use them. Galaxy was
$9.95/mo but they recently raised their rates slightly. They also do DSL.
As I mentioned, one of my clients has DSL, but had a problem with his
laptop (which eventually required sending in to DELL). I connected my
Linux laptop to the DSL cable and it came up immediately with a
reasonable bandwidth.
Also, the World (http://www.std.com) is also a reasonable locally owned
ISP. Many of use have accounts there from when we were with the BCS.
I recently gave a talk at the Share convention, and needed to use a local
dialup since I have Mediaone (AT&T BB). I had not used my world
account in years. I had never used Linux PPP before, and it came up the
first time after I initialized it.
