cdrecord not recognizing my ATAPI CD-RW

   cdrom module...

Hmm.  If I have these statically compiled in, rather than as modules,
is there a way to force Linux to not check for an ATAPI CD-ROM at boot
time?  Or do I have to recompile the kernel?
