SSH time outs.

Assuming the Linksys BEFSR41 is a NAT gateway, you could be running
into NAT timeout problems, where the Linksys destroys the NAT state
after an idle timeout. With Linux you can easily adjust this timeout.
I have no idea how to adjust it on a Linksys.
