Sorry, I wasn't very clear. I should have written that the 3Com boards 
speak to each other at the higher of the two speeds that they both are 
capable of. So if boards A and C are 10 whatevers per second, and boards B 
and D are 100 whatevers per second, then when boards A and B are 
communicating, it'll be at 10 whatevers per second, and when boards B and D 
are communicating, it'll be at 100 whatevers per second, or whatever. ;-) 
In other words, faster boards aren't slowed down by the existence of slower 
boards on the network, as long as the slower boards aren't in on the action.
