You do not need the IRQ on the video subsystem for anything.  Can you turn
it off or just get X to ignore it entirely?  Under Linux, the video IRQ is
just vestigial, of no real use with modern hardware.  With the video IRQ
disabled, you might get into some compatibility problems -- if you happen
to run DOS software which expects to communicate with an EGA controller.
