Jerry,
I was able to get SuSE 6.1 installed. In the linuxrc screen "main menu"
instead of selecting "start installation/system" like I did the first
time, I chose "kernel modules (hardware drivers)", popped out the 'boot
disk', popped in the 'modules disk', then loaded pcmcia modules. The
next directions requested entering "parameters for pcmcia core modules"
I wasn't sure what to type so I just hit "Enter" twice. This started
card manager and successfully started pcmcia card services, the CD-ROM
drive was mounted!
My last install was a little sloppy, I think I'll wipe everything clean,
start again from scratch, and figure out how to use YaST do it
correctly. I'm subscribed to discuss in "Digest" mode, so I may be a
little out of sync reading replies to the list. Thanks again for the
pointers!
