Fetchmail question

I am currently using fetchmail to download my email from the mediaone pop
server. I currently have it configured as a daemon with the .fetchmailrc in
root's home directory. Alternatively, it can be configured to be run as a
cron task or run as a foreground task as the curent user. I am just looking
for other people's experiences with it.
