I'm a big fan of Fetchmail, but a situation like this demands I forward it.
I want the email to always be on a server where I can get at it from
anywhere... home, work etc. IMAP works great for this since keeping large
amounts of mail in a POP box while accessing it from several locations can
be ... a hassle to say the least.
Exchange, AFAIK, does not support IMAP. Hence the need for a go-between.

There are several mailers on Linux that support POP3 and IMAP. Fetchmail can
be used to deliver email so you can continue to use Pine.
