but the great irony, imho, is that while they all work differently the
unix-esque paradigm of stdin/stdout/small granularity/architecture
neutral protocols allows all the tools that work differently to work
*together* so much more effectively than the same number of windows
tools that might have all their buttons in the same place.
a matter or priorities no doubt.
