:: swapon: /proc/swaps: No such file or directory
::
:: Superuser can not make /proc/swaps as a directory. There is an extremely
:: large file /proc/kcore
::
a] /proc/kcore is probably about the size of your RAM, eh? (hint
things in /proc don't physically exist on disk, its a metaphor)
b] make sure you have /dev/hda6 defined in /etc/fstab
something like:
/dev/hda6 swap swap defaults 0 0
make sure you've initialized the partition (mkswap /dev/hda6)..
then run swapon -a
.. swapon should be in your startup scripts and it will be automatic
for you once the partition is initialized and in fstab.
