Yes. I have also. I got turned off on the Dummies book when a high school
computer science teacher was learning C from the C for Dummies book, and
many of the examples had:
void main()
{
}
As a language lawyer (because I worked with LINT for so long), main always
returns an int. (This is required both in ANSI/ISO as well as K&R). Mosty
compilers allow this unfortunately. I hate language books that violate the language
spec. Kind of like an English grammar book that uses "ain't" in examples of good
English.
